2020 has been filled with a lot of uncertainty and confusion, but it appears that Chevrolet is committed to making this year a little better. Despite production delays caused by a global manufacturing halt, Chevy has officially started up the production line for the 2021 Tahoe and its GMC brand cousin, the Yukon.
According to industry insiders, General Motors is enacting a staged manufacturing plan to build the next generation of the beloved full-size SUV. Chevrolet plans to build basic versions of the 2021 Tahoe first, then eventually move on to the longer wheelbase vehicles later in the pipeline. Customers looking for a Tahoe with more advanced features than the standard configuration might have a slightly longer wait than expected, but rest assured, your Tahoe is on its way.
The next generation of the Chevy Tahoe is certainly worth the wait given the impressive new features available on the 2021 model. The brand new Z71 edition of the Tahoe was built with adventurers in mind, and includes a number of off-road ready features like 20-inch all-terrain tires, an Air Ride Adaptive Suspension system, and fun-yet-functional red tow hooks to help out fellow thrill-seekers that are in a bind on the trail.

Electric vehicles have a wide variety of benefits that make them ideal options for families. If you’re interested in driving an electric vehicle but want to know more about them before making a purchase, be sure to watch the new Chevrolet Bolt EV Academy video series.
This video series goes into detail about the features of the Chevrolet Bolt EV and why the car is superior. In addition, over the course of 15 quick episodes, the series gives clear instructions about how to drive the car and utilize its innovative technologies.
In particular, the series covers the ins and outs of installing a charging station at home and charging the Bolt EV. It even explains how to charge the car while taking a cross-country road trip. To boost your confidence on the drive, you can also learn about the car’s numerous safety systems and how to read the Driver Information Center.
The Bolt EV makes backing out of a parking spot easier with HD Surround Vision and the Rear Camera Mirror, both of which are discussed in the series. On top of having driver assistance technologies, the Car also features connectivity options, like Bluetooth® technology, which are easy to learn.
If you’re interested in viewing the Chevrolet Bolt EV Academy video series, you can find it on Chevrolet.com or YouTube. If you’ve been looking for a way to save money at the gas pump while reducing your carbon footprint, an electric vehicle is a great option. For a model that won’t force you to sacrifice range for efficiency, consider the Chevrolet Bolt EV, which was just named to Kelley Blue Book’s list of the 10 Longest-Ranged Electric Cars of 2020.
The 2020 Bolt has a best-in-class range of 259 miles. That’s about 10 percent more than previous Bolt generations. Even so, it still provides an impressive 200 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque.
“It makes an excellent city car or runabout, and with some planning for recharges can even be a road-tripper,” said the KBB editors.
Chevy has you covered on your next road trip as well. With over 40,000 charging stations across the country, it’s not hard to find a convenient spot to power up. The myChevrolet Mobile App with Energy Assist shows you where those stations are and can calculate how much juice you have left based on road and weather conditions. Additionally, available DC Fast Charging can provide up to 100 miles of charge in just 30 minutes.
With such an impressive range, it won’t be long before EVs — like the Chevrolet Bolt EVs that we sell here at Sunrise Chevrolet Buick GMC at Collierville — are as common on the road as gas-powered vehicles.
The Chevy Colorado mid-size truck will see a lot of changes for the upcoming model year, including a reshuffling of the trim levels. The 2021 Colorado will do away with its Base trim, making the WT (Work Truck) trim standard and adding more features to other trims.
Chevy cited the popularity of the WT and higher trim levels, saying that Chevy customers preferred the added features of the trims above the Base. But just because the Base trim is gone doesn’t mean the Colorado is no longer affordable — Chevy spokesperson Chris Bonelli guarantees that the truck will “remain very competitively priced in the mid-size truck segment.”
The 2021 Colorado will also get some new package options, like the Chrome Appearance Package, which adds sleek style to the exterior of the truck. And that’s not the only style upgrade you can expect — the Colorado will sport an altered front fascia, and the Z71 trim will feature a black bowtie emblem on the grille.
There are exciting updates in the cab, too. The new Colorado will come with an auto-dimming rearview mirror standard on the LT trim, for instance, providing you with better visibility and safety without breaking the bank. Chevy hasn’t announced many more details about the 2021 Colorado, but some theories suggest it will see revised engine options, including the new GM 2.7L L3B TriPower engine.
We hope you’ll join us here at Sunrise Buick GMC at Collierville when we can finally get behind the wheel of the 2021 Chevrolet Colorado.
At approximately 8:30 AM on February 28th, 2020, the very last Chevrolet Impala was assembled at the Detroit-Hamtramck General Motors plant. Though Chevy announced the discontinuation of the legendary nameplate over a year ago, the loss of the iconic Impala is no less bittersweet.
After 60 years on the road, countless appearances in popular culture, and an impressive run as one of the most common police vehicles, the Chevrolet Impala is still widely beloved and critically acclaimed. In late 2019, it was revealed by Insurify.com that the Impala topped the list of most popular vehicles in seven states. Additionally, it was named the Lowest Cost to Own Full-Size Car by Kelley Blue Book as well as the Best Large Car for the Money by U.S. News just this year.
Though the Impala’s retirement might leave a sedan-shaped hole in your heart, rest easy knowing that Chevrolet has plenty of exciting projects in the works. General Motors is making a massive $2.2 billion renovation to the former Impala production facility to gear up to produce EVs. One of the upcoming all-electric vehicles expected to be built in the Detroit-Hamtramck plant is the newly-resurrected GMC Hummer.
As heartbroken as you may be, diehard Impala fans should remain hopeful; the Impala was axed from the Chevy lineup twice before and came back stronger than ever. In the meanwhile, visit Sunrise Chevrolet Buick GMC at Collierville if you want to own one of the last Impalas – for now.
Chevrolet recently pulled back the covers on the 2021 Colorado, debuting a whole new look for America’s favorite mid-size truck. The Colorado will officially make its first public appearance this fall at the 2019 Method Race Wheels Laughlin Desert Classic before heading to the SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
So what is new for the 2021 Chevy Colorado? For starters, it gets a new Sand Dune Metallic exterior color for Z71 and ZR2 trim levels. Chevy has also revised the bowtie emblem for the Colorado and added more differentiation among trims. For example, the WT, LT, and Z71 models benefit from new skid plates, lower fascias, and updated center bars. The bowties on the first two will be gold, while the Z71 bears a new black bowtie.
If you go with the ZR2 off-road Colorado model, you’ll get the Colorado’s new, exclusive front fascia. The ZR2 model will also now come standard with red tow hooks.
“We’ve sold 520,000 Colorado pickups in five years through a relentless, foot-on-the-gas approach to product and feature updates,” commented Bob Krapes, director of marketing, Chevrolet Trucks. “With its new-look front end and tailgate, Colorado will now have a more aggressive appearance to match its award-winning capability.”
We can’t wait to see you here at Sunrise Chevrolet Buick GMC at Collierville when the 2021 Chevy Colorado hits lots later this year.
Chevrolet recently introduced the long-awaited 2021 Tahoe and Suburban — and these two full-size SUVs are now bigger, better, and more advanced than ever.
Both the Tahoe and the Suburban are built on a brand-new platform that incorporates an independent rear suspension for a smoother ride and more responsive handling. There’s even an available Air Ride Adaptive Suspension that lets you raise and lower the vehicle’s height. To go with the new ten-speed push-button automatic transmission, you can choose from three engines: a 5.3-liter V8, a 6.2-liter V8, and a new Duramax® turbodiesel 3.0-liter inline-six.
The 2021 Tahoe and Suburban come with lots of fresh tech, including a standard ten-inch color touch screen, an available 15-inch Head-Up Display, available 12.6-inch dual entertainment screens for the rear seat, nine available trailering camera views, and up to 30 safety and driver-assistance features.
Each model boasts significantly more interior space than previous generations. The smaller Tahoe benefits the most, adding three inches of second-row legroom and ten inches of third-row legroom to accompany an expanded 122.9 cubic feet of maximum cargo space. The larger Suburban adds more than two inches of second-row and third-row legroom and offers 144.7 cubic feet of total cargo space.
The redesigned Tahoe and Suburban also get striking new exterior looks, including standard LED lighting, standard 18-inch wheels, and nine paint color options. Six trims are available: LS, LT, RST, Z71, Premier, and High Country.
Starting this summer, you can test-drive the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe and 2021 Chevrolet Suburban here at Sunrise Chevrolet Buick GMC at Collierville.
As engineering technology has improved, smaller engines are capable of delivering more efficiency and power than ever. That is why General Motors is adding two new three-cylinder engines to its U.S. lineup for the first time in over 20 years. These engines will make their debuts on the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer and the 2020 Buick Encore GX.
With advanced turbocharger technology, these three-cylinder engines will deliver similar outputs to four-cylinder engines. The units will come with features like an active vacuum system, an electrically assisted wastegate system, and an electrically driven water pump. All these features, plus the 40-pound weight difference, should help deliver superior efficiency and performance over the four-cylinder engines.
The last time GM offered a three-cylinder, it was in the 2000 Chevrolet Metro. This 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine was only rated at 55 horsepower. By comparison, GM’s overseas three-cylinder options deliver around 155 horsepower. GM has yet to announce the official output ratings of the new 1.2- and 1.3-liter engines.
All of us at Sunrise Chevrolet Buick GMC at Collierville are we are excited to experience these new engines for ourselves. The 2020 Buick Encore GX should arrive within the next couple months, while the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer is set to debut later this spring. We’d love to see you here to test drive either — or both — of these vehicles.
We all know that buying a new car is expensive. However, you can still get a great car without spending a small fortune. Recently, U.S. News named the 2019 Chevrolet Spark one of the Best Cars Under $16,000 for 2019. The Spark is currently the least expensive car on the market today, proving that a quality car doesn’t need to come alongside a premium price tag.
The Spark has an affordable MSRP of just under $14,000, but that doesn’t mean you won’t get all the features you want in a new car. It comes loaded with modern technology features like a seven-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth® connectivity, a rearview camera, a USB port, Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® compatibility, and even OnStar® with 4G LTE Wi-Fi® capabilities.
Inside, the Spark comes with comfortable seating for four. Its versatile hatchback design makes it easy to load up cargo, and you can even fold down the rear seats when you need more space. U.S. News also recognized the Spark for having a higher predicted reliability rating than the average car.
There are four trim levels for you to choose from, including the base LS, 1LT, 2LT, and Activ. Moving up through the trim levels will get you features like power accessories, simulated leather seating, push-button start, and heated front seats.

Here in Tennessee, fall is a spectacular time of year. We love seeing all the beautiful colors, especially in the eastern part of the state. However, there is more to the season than sightseeing. If you own a Chevrolet Silverado, here are some fun activities you can try out this fall.
Thanks to the natural beauty of Tennessee, there are plenty of parks where you can enjoy nature. Pack up your truck and spend a weekend going camping with your family. You can even get a tent that attaches directly to the bed so you don’t have to sleep on the ground.
Host a Tailgate Party
If you love football as much as we do, then you’re probably all about throwing a good tailgate party. If you own a Silverado, you have the perfect vehicle for the occasion. Load up the bed with a grill, some food, and bring the party with you to the next game.
Be in a Parade
Pickup trucks are some of the best vehicles to use in parades. They can quickly be turned into a float by hanging a few decorations on the sides and loading everyone into the bed. The Silverado also has plenty of towing power to tow large floats and trailers. With Christmas parades coming up, go ahead and volunteer your truck.
Before you join a parade or set out for a camping trip, make sure your Silverado is up to date on its maintenance. If not, set up a service appointment at Sunrise Buick GMC at Collierville and let us keep it in tip-top shape.
